International Application students who apply to study at Melior Business School will need to apply for the Student’s Pass from Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
A. New Application
New applications must be submitted at least 2 months and not more than 6 months from the program commencement date.Applicants are not required to be present in Singapore while their applications are being considered. Hence, no extension of stay will be considered while the applications are under processing.
Successful applicants may enter Singapore to complete the formalities after their applications have been approved. They will be issued Student’s Passes within 1 month from the commencement date of the program.
B. Documents Required From Applicant
- 2 copies of Form 16, Form V36 and Form V39S duly completed and signed by applicant and local sponsor at the relevant sections (The first set of forms must be original. The second set may be photocopies of the original set):

- 2 recent passport-sized photographs (Colour/Black & White) to be pasted on the top right-hand corner of Form 16
- Applicant's Official Birth Certificate (photocopy)
- Applicant’s highest education certificates and result transcripts (photocopy). In cases where a Notarial Certificate is submitted, a copy of the education certificates and result transcripts must still be included
- Copies of personal particular pages of applicant’s travel document (photocopy)
Applicant is a national from the visa-required countries:
- Documentary proof of financial ability in the form of bank statements/fixed deposit accounts/saving accounts (photocopy)
Successful applicants are required to produce all the original copies of their Basic and Supporting documents for verification when collecting the Student’s Passes
C. Security Deposit
Students who applied to study at Melior Business School will be required to place a security deposit with ICA for the period of study. The amount of security deposit can be seen in the table below:

Exemption from the requirement to furnish a security deposit: Malaysians/Brunei nationals; Holders of valid Dependant’s Pass, long term Social Visit Pass and work pass; Children of Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents; International students who pursue a full-time university degree (Graduate/Post-Graduate) program , except for the University of London (UOL) tuition programs, at an approved private education organization.

E. Approved Student’s Pass
Once your Student’s Pass has been approved, the following will take place.
ICA Approval Letter
ICA will send an official letter to inform the School about the approval of your Student’s Pass. You will need to get ready to leave for Singapore. You are encouraged to arrive in Singapore at least one week before commencement of your course. This is to allow sufficient time for you to settle down in Singapore.
Before Departure
Before departure, you will need to arrange the following:
- Return air ticket to Singapore*
- Accommodation for the first week
- Airport pickup
- Emergency telephone contacts in Singapore
*Entry Visa
For visa-required country, the School will help to apply for the entry visa on your behalf. The entry visa cost about S$20 and student will have to reimburse the School upon arrival. You will need to wait for the entry visa to be couriered to you before you depart for Singapore.
Upon Arrival
Once you arrive in Singapore, you will need to do the following:
- Report to the School - to collect the ICA Approval letter. You will also be required to attend the orientation for your program. Details of the orientation can be found in your Letter of Offer.
- Medical Examination - Arrange to go for your Medical Examination at any of the approved GPs in Singapore.
You will be examined on the following:
- Cardiovascular System
- Respiratory System
- Abdomen
- Neurological
- TB (Chest X-ray) to test for any evidence of active TB dected
The Clinical Examination may be done in Singapore by any registered General Practitioner (GP) and the HIV test performed by the GP MUST be sent to any of the HIV clinical laboratories approved by Ministry of Health (MOH).
Medical report will be ready in 2 to 3 workings days.
- Collection of Student’s Pass - once you have collected your medical report and confirmed that you have passed the medical examination, you may proceed to collect your Student’s Pass from ICA. You will be required to pay a fee
for your Student’s Pass.
Fees
The fee for a Student's Pass is S$40/= per year or part thereof. If an applicant requires a visa to enter or stay in Singapore beyond the visa-free period, he/she will need to pay an additional fee of S$30 for a single-entry visa. A further S$30 may also be payable for a multiple-entry visa with the issue of the Student's Pass. The fee is payable when the successful applicant completes the formalities to collect the Student’s Pass. Please make payment by NETS, CashCard or EZ link
